FynbosLIFE (Non-Profit Company registration number: 2019/067339/08) works in partnership with the City of Cape Town Nature Conservation to encourage the planting and protection of locally indigenous flora. This enhances biological and social welfare on the Cape Town lowlands and conserves urban fynbos wildlife.

Did you know that Cape Town's lowland veld types are among the most biodiverse and threatened in the world? FynbosLIFE builds the capacity of civil society for biodiversity custodianship through its FundaFynbos project, Cape Flats Fynbos Nursery, and Locally Indigenous Greening Guidelines.

FundaFynbos creates veld type demonstration gardens called Veld Circles, each one being a biodiversity stepping stone, recreational visitor garden, and outdoor classroom rolled into one. Here visitors are shown how to support urban wildlife by reintroducing locally indigenous vegetation into their own gardens.

?

The Cape Flats Fynbos Nursery supplies suitable Cape Town lowland wild plants, advice, and planting services for greening projects that improve connectivity between urban nature reserves. These projects include educational community outreach gardens and other habitat restoration projects in lowland public open space.

There are many different ways to get involved in Cape Town's locally indigenous greening movement, contact FynbosLIFE to help plant our natural future!
