Environmental Law Association (ELA)

The Environmental Law Association (ELA) is a non-profit organisation, the aim of which is to promote the conservation of the environment and public education regarding the environment and environmental law. It also seeks to encourage collaboration between people interested in environmental law and to advise and comment on issues of environmental law and its application.

Membership is open to anyone who is interested in environmental law. One does not need a legal qualification to join. Activities are conducted regionally and at a national level. A flagship project of the ELA is the South African Journal of Environmental Law and Policy, published by the University of KwaZulu-Natal, twice a year.
