Klein Karoo Organic Initiative (KKOI)

The Klein Karoo Organic Initiative (KKOI) based in Ladismith is an organised group of Organic farmers (both emerging and commercial). KKOI now has 90 members who meet once a month in Ladismith, and have an organic morning market before their meeting.

KKOI has several projects:

• SA National Organic Seed Project. This is part of the National Organic Produce Initiative, (NOPI) being put together by Diverse International in partnership with several government departments and NGOs.
  
• Setting up recycling in the area.
  
• Producing an organic booklet and newsletter, with emphasis on education, networking and sharing of information.
