The Sustainable Energy and Climate Change Project (SECCP) is a project of the Johannesburg branch of Earthlife Africa. The project’s objective is the promotion of policies and measures (PAMs) for sustainable energy and climate change response in South African and Regional development and energy planning.
The Project aims to achieve this objective by working with South African civil society, in cooperation with Southern and Northern NGOs, to advance PAMs including energy efficiency in supply and consumption and renewable energy and clean technologies.
The project is based on the following strategy: Building civil society solidarity and capacity to advocate, lobby and engage government for a just transition to sustainable energy and climate change response in South Africa.
The SECCP also provides secretariat support and coordination to the South African Climate Action Network and helps to development member’s capacity to engage in the full range of climate change issues.
