Promethium Carbon is a specialist carbon company based in South Africa. We specialize in providing greenhouse gas management solutions to companies operating in the mining, minerals beneficiation, primary processing, agricultural and energy industries. Our approach to carbon footprint assessment provides comfort to product exporters (such as wine, avocado and grapes) as well as large listed clients who report under the Carbon Disclosure Project.

The solutions we offer include Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project definition, turnkey CDM project development, carbon accounting and climate change risk assessment services. Promethium’s activities in the power generation industry contain both an advisory / service component as well as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) component. Promethium’s IPP activities are conducted in an exclusive Joint Venture with Exxaro, registered as Exxaro On-site. The focus of the IPP is cleaner energy projects (i.e. renewable energy and waste-to-energy projects)
