1. Conchologists of America (COA) Grants to Malacology 

Up to $2,500 (usually $1,000 - $1,500 per project) for qualified parties undertaking field or laboratory research on recent or fossil mollusks, and other molluscan related projects.

2. Robert Bosch Foundation: Fast Track: Excellence and Leadership Skills for Outstanding Women in Science 


Intensive education program for 20 outstanding female postdocs (2-6 years after PhD) with international experience. The program will develop their skills and abilities in a series of intensive seminars over several days, smoothing their path to a leadership position in research. Opportunity to exchange experiences and network with leading scientists, politicians, business and media representatives, and financial support for activities to advance your career. This year, the program addresses candidates interested in interdisciplinary research.

3. EMBO Young Investigator Programme 


The Young Investigator Programme provides support for young researchers (up to 40 years) in the life sciences who have established their first laboratories in the past four years. The researchers receive a range of benefits, including an award of 15,000 Euros and the opportunity to apply for additional funds to help start their first independent research laboratories.

4. Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin: College for Life Sciences Fellowships 


Short-term fellowships for early career post-doctoral life scientists to live and work in a unique, interdisciplinary environment at the Wissenschaftskolleg's campus. The fellowship enables you to step back from your demanding lab work and teaching duties and provides time to work on your research questions, to develop your career goals, to establish crucial cooperations and to broaden your horizon. Eligibility: post-doctoral researchers and junior principal investigators from all life science disciplines. Duration: 6 months, but shorter residencies of at least 3 months are possible.

5. Fundación Princesa de Asturias: Princess of Asturias Awards 


The Awards are intended to reward scientific, technical, cultural, social and humanitarian work carried out at an international level by individuals, institutions or groups of individuals or institutions. Categories: Arts, Literature, Social Sciences, Communication and Humanities, Technical and Scientific Research, International Cooperation, Concord and Sports. Nominees should be outstandingly exemplary and their work or contribution should be of acknowledged international standing in each of the categories that the Awards encompass. è Princess of Asturias Award for Technical and Scientific Research: on the individual, institution, group of individuals or institutions whose research, findings and/or inventions represent an outstanding contribution to the progress and welfare of humanity in the fields of Mathematics, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, Earth and Space Sciences and Technological Sciences, including those disciplines corresponding to each of these fields and their related techniques. Each Award comprises a Joan Miró sculpture, a cash prize of € 50,000, a diploma and an insignia.

6. Society for the Study of Evolution: Theodosius Dobzhansky Prize 2016 


$5000 to recognize the accomplishments and future promise of an outstanding young evolutionary biologist. The candidate must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) awarded no earlier than May 2012 and no later than 1st February 2016, and must be actively involved in research in the field of evolutionary biology. Applicants do not have to be members of the Society for the Study of Evolution, but such membership is encouraged.
