VACANCY: Reserve Manager for a Limpopo Game Reserve - 20 September 2016
Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12
- Ideally must have a formal and recognised professional conservation qualification in Wildlife/ Nature conservation (preferably post graduate) plus a minimum of five years as a Reserve Manager on a private game reserve, preferably in the Waterberg area.
- Must have hands–on, practical experience in the management of bush mechanics, irrigation systems, road and dams, fencing, general building, plumbing, solar power and electrics. Must be fit, strong, willing and able to carry out physical work themselves.
- Must have excellent people skills in order to interact with management, staff and guests, the proven ability of building a capable team and a track record of sustainable reserve management. Will have to fit in with the culture and values of the Reserve. Should be self-motivated, resourceful, passionate about wildlife and able to live simply in a remote rural area.
Preference will be given to someone with sound knowledge of the management of TOPS animals, knowledge of the Waterberg/sourveld, knowledge of intensive breeding (sable and buffalo), and has experience in operating heavy equipment.
Good contactable references and a clear criminal record are essential.
Salary:
On offer is a market based annual package including salary (R30-R40k) , accommodation, benefits and performance incentives. (No medical aid or pension)
