VACANCIES: Professional Officers: Urban Development ICLEI Africa (NOW CLOSED) - 25 October 2016

Professional Officer: Urban Development (several contract positions ranging from 2 to 4 years)

ICLEI Africa seeks to hire several urban development experts to join our dynamic team of professionals in the fields of urban sustainability. Successful incumbents must have a strong technical background and keen interest in sustainable urban development and its practical implementation in Africa and /or internationally, coupled with proven experience in the following areas:

(a) Development, implementation and mainstreaming of sustainable urban development policy, strategy and action plans related, with specialized skills and experience in one or more of the following fields: Integrated urban water management and sanitation

• planning

• nature-based urban solutions

• urban risk management and resilience

• green and blue urban infrastructure

• energy and climate change

• financing mechanisms for urban development

• resource economics

• sustainable development

(b) Project design, implementation and management with proven experience of working in, and leading, multi-disciplinary project teams

(c) Business development, promotion and development of strategic partnerships Position specific requirements

• A Relevant Master’s degree, or equivalent recognized qualification

• Minimum of 5 years relevant post-graduate working experience, at least 3 of which at project management level
